For some ecommerce applications you are required to provide your PayPal API User Name, API Password and API signature. To locate this inforation within PayPal, do the following:
- Log into PayPal.
- Click My Account.
- Click Profile.
- Click My Selling Tools in the left menu.
- Part way down in the Selling Online section, locate API Access. Click Update beside this entry.
- In the Option 2 section, click View API Signature.
It's possible that you don't already have an API ID, Password and Signature. You will have to request one. The procedure may be different depending on the version of PayPal that you have.
To request an API ID, Password and Signature.
- Log into PayPal.
- Click My Account.
- Click Profile.
- Click Request API Credentials.
- Choose Option 1 or Option 2 depending on your use case scenario.
